Programs and Events |
The library is a cultural center for the community offering enrichment programs, educational workshops, musical concerts, art classes, computer and technology classes, self-improvement seminars, do-it-yourself mini-classes, and other exceptional programs and events planned with all library patrons, children, adults, and families in mind.
Throughout the year you will see continuing and permanent programs like story hour on the calendar alongside now annual events like the art show and our cooking classes. Each is designed to provide enjoyment and relaxation, learning and information. Books on the topic of our programs are always displayed and available for patron check-out at the event. Books are the foundation for all of our programs and services. Reading adventures begin at your library through books, programs, and services.
The library hopes to stimulate your senses, heighten your awareness, and provide information that you need when you need it. In the following pages you will see upcoming events and programs which are just a taste of what the library has available all year round. There's always room for one more. Will it be you?

DRAMA CLASSES! The library will be hosting professional theater instructors from The Dixie Performing Arts Center in Huntingdon to bring drama classes for students in 3rd-8th grades to Camden. Two classes with 15 students each (3rd-5th and 6th-8th) will learn about theater vocabulary, improvisation, musical theater and much more during these Saturday morning and early afternoon classes beginning January 19th. These classes are made possible by a Arts Build Communities grant from the state of Tennessee being matched by the Benton County Arts Council. Registration is being taken now and a waiting list will be started once classes are filled in case openings become available.
WAR VETERAN PICTORIAL BOOK-The library will be publishing a series of books on war veterans beginning in January. The first book will feature veterans of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. A form is available at the library to fill out and return with a picture of your veteran and will be included free of charge. The library wants to feature as many veterans as possible so please be sure to fill out a form on all the veterans in your family! If you would like to have an entire page featuring your veteran with additional photos, poems, letters, or other memorabilia you can purchase an entire page in the book for $50.00. Pre-orders will be taken for these collectible heirloom books which will be hardbound and sell for $25.00 each.
Please contact the library for information on these or other events and programs! There's always something to do @ Your Library!
