Preschool Story Hour

This is our traditional story hour program for birth through preschool age children.  Children will sing and learn songs, listen to stories, and make age appropriate story related crafts. This program lasts 45 minutes and is held weekly during the school year, starting in late September.  Parents may stay with children or leave the child during this story time.

After School Adventurers

This program is designed to keep school age children interested in reading, writing, and using the library.  We make learning fun in After School Adventurers.  The program lasts 45 minutes, and is held one afternoon a week.  A school bus does run by the library after school if you would like for your child to attend this program. New for 2010-2011 this group will be for younger elementary students and our older elementary kids will move to the Tweens and Teens progra.

Tweens and Teens

This is a program evolved from our original Teen Scene that was geared for 6th-12th graders. Our new Tweens and Teens, is a program for young people ages 4th grade through 8th grade that will meet 8 times yearly for activities, movies, field trips, and book club programs related to and centered on a particular book or a book theme.  Food, fun, and fellowship with friends are the prime ingredients for this boisterous and always exciting age group!

Children’s Outreach

Outreach story times are conducted at several area preschools.  This brings the library to children who might not ordinarily get to visit during the day, and allows them to experience a little of the magic of library story time.  If you are not sure if your child’s preschool participates, please ask their preschool teacher.

Summer Reading

Summer Reading

We have summer reading programs for all ages starting in June of each year!  Check the quarterly calendar during the summer for dates and times.  Children birth through 5th grade visit the library weekly for super exciting programs, cranked up crafts, and music to get you moving.  Our theme for 2010 will be centered around the CIRCUS!
