Tuesdays Together |
In the hustle and bustle that is our lives, isn't it nice to know there is somewhere you can come, bring your child, and spend some quality time together? Family Reading Night is just the place to connect with the children in your life. The library will provide the quiet nooks and lots of books and you provide the time to read and share stories together.
This timeis great for parents or grandparents to let your little ones show off their reading skills or help older children, with your input, to choose books and discuss their choices with you.
The library hosts Family Reading Night on the last Tuesday of each month from 5:30 until 6:00 p.m. However, any time you wish, the library welcomes you to come spend time at the library to read with your children. Flyers on different topics relating to reading and reading skills are available to pick up during the scheduled time, and there are occasional special programs scheduled for families during this time. Check the website or the library newsletter for the upcoming dates and other information.
The Family Reading Night was created as a program to coordinate with our Grant Packs. If you have not checked one out, you are missing a real treat! The Grant Packs are sturdy canvas bags filled to the brim with books, audios, videos, and fun worksheets that are selected for specific age groups and/or grade levels. There are packs for preschool up through 9th grade.
NEW! Each month the library will publish a flyer with hints and tips for family reading at home. We will include special topics, themes, and great books on display. For October through December pick up ideas and great books about outdoors, being thankful, and Christmas traditions old and new.
